Kaumarbhritya, is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda, that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and cure of childhood diseases, nurturing mother and care of mother after delivery thus ensuring better health of both mother and child. In Ayurveda, paediatric care focuses both on neonate and paediatric age group aiming to the better development of children.
With the key scope:
1. Enhancing immunity in children with Lehan karma e.g. suvaranprashan.
2. To improve mental health and behavioural disorders eg. ADHD, Autism.
3. Management of allergic disorders through immune enhancing and therapeutic measures.
4. Treatment of malnutrition in reference with phakka rog and Bal shosh.
5. Management of various muscular disorders with Panchkarma.
6. Dietry and behavioural development.
Kaumarbhritya department is equipped with a Departmental library for UG Students, charts and medicinal specimens commonly used in formulations of bal rog, OPD/IPD including panchkarma procedures for overall textual and clinical development of students
